Shane Phillips


Shane started his career in 2000, completing his London City and Guilds in cookery at Whitireia Polytech. He spent the next 20 years working throughout Wellington, Australia and teaching hospitality in the Cook Islands.

 

He owned his own catering business for four years, gaining experience in large scale catering and hospitality events. And has done time managing bars and gaming venues. This experience has given Shane an insight into the challenges of owning your own business and the rewards of when it flourishes.

 

With his time teaching in the Cook Islands, Shane has a passion for seeing people upskilling, personal growth and development in the hospitality sector. Shane loves nothing more than the day-to-day contact with people, seeing them thrive and being able to provide calm and supportive advice and guidance.

 

Outside of work Shane loves his cricket, yoga, travelling, food and wine. He also loves spending time with his three grown children and his dog, Wilson.
