Hospitality NZ has submitted on the Online Casino Gambling Bill, advocating that online gambling be banned altogether given little to no harm minimisation oversight in place. In lieu of a ban, we recommended that online casinos be required to make community contributions in much the same way that Class 4 operators and Lotto are, a lesser number of licences be offered and that operators be required to be land-based (ie have a New Zealand presence).
