Hospitality New Zealand submitted on the NCEA reform proposals.  We highlighted our concerns overall that the pace of change and interrelated nature of education reforms will carry unintended consequences across the sector and across our ability to access the skills we need.

We specifically raised concerns about the role (and potential minimisation) of hospitality courses across secondary schools, particularly regarding new qualification structure, subject-based assessment approach and stronger achievement requirements.  We also highlighted some opportunities and concerns regarding the integration of Vocational Education and Training (VET) into senior secondary qualifications.
