Local Government Annual Plans and COVID-19
Hospitality New Zealand wrote to all Council's seeking urgent assistance for Hospitality and Tourism businesses across a number of issues.
These included: Rates Increases, Temporary Rates Remissions and Alcohol Licensing Concerns.
Members will be updated as Councils respond and begin discussions.
COVID-19 Lock down and Commercial Tenancies
Hospitality New Zealand wrote to Finance Minister Grant Robertson outlining urgent concerns facing Hospitality and Tourism businesses during the COVID-19 situation.
The key messaging of this letter was around the tenant/landlord dynamic, particularly in regards to relief for leasees.

Code of Conduct for Landlords
Hospitality New Zealand wrote to Minister of Justice Andrew Little urgently requesting assistance for commercial business tenants by adopting a Code of Conduct for landlords to work with their tenants.
A draft Code of Conduct was presented within the letter dated 17 April 2020.
