COMMUNITY COMPASS DATA PORTAL

Hospitality NZ, along with the Restaurant Association and MBIE, are pleased to provide you unique access to in-store consumer spend data for every region in New Zealand, thanks to Dot Loves Data.  This exclusive member portal delivers reliable, frequent, and consistent data insights on the performance of the hospitality sector —giving you the competitive edge you need. Until now, understanding market trends and measuring current spend has been limited due to a lack of accessible data. That has now changed. Through the development of a hospitality data portal we’re bringing powerful consumer transaction data to New Zealand’s hospitality industry for the first time. What you’ll uncover:

  • The size of the hospitality and restaurant tourism market spend, both internationally and domestically
  • Who your customers are and what their loyalty (or frequency) is
  • Tourism spend relative to local spend
  • The spend origin (international or regional).

All of this is available as monthly breakdown and broken down into every regional district across Aotearoa.

Community Compass also displays a range of other data sets that may be useful in your business.

Hospitality State of the Nation Report

Hospitality NZ is pleased to present the first in a series of reports by economist Shamubeel Eaqub, on the hospitality industry’s state of play.

The report is broken into four chapters, focused on the size and contribution, the supply and demand, and some myth busting around the productivity of the sector.

Shamubeel also presents some clear recommendations on surviving challenging economic conditions and remaining cautiously optimistic.
